Possible Saturday Construction Work for Slurry Wall Operations
(Southeast corner of 94th Street at Second Avenue)
On April 14th, 2012
In support of the Second Avenue Subway (SAS) project, MTA contractors are currently in the process of excavating a trench for a slurry wall panel installation. There is a possibility that the excavation, placement of the steel rebar cages, and concreting may not finish by the close of business on Friday. The excavated trench cannot be left open during the weekend period and as a result MTA contractors may need to continue the work this Saturday, April 14, 2012.
A full roadway closure would be necessary on 94th Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue during the hours of 8AM to 8PM. Flaggers will be positioned at both ends of 94th Street, at First Avenue and Second Avenue, to facilitate the flow of traffic as appropriate. Drivers and pedestrians should be aware that when 94th Street is closed, the street between Second and First Avenues will be temporarily two-way, and drivers and walkers should look both ways.
Please note the scope and nature of construction activities are subject to change based upon field conditions. All work has been approved by appropriate City agencies where required. We appreciate your patience during construction.
