Intermittent Closures of 94th Street
(between Third and Second Avenues)
Beginning on or around February 6th, 2012
In support of the Second Avenue Subway (SAS) project, MTA contractors will begin major underground work on 94th Street between Third Avenue and Second Avenue, beginning Monday, February 6th 2012. This work will require 94th Street, between Third Avenue and Second Avenue, to be closed temporarily due to the size and location of the operation and its proximity to vehicular trafficc. The roadway will be reopened at night after daytime construction activities are completed. These intermittent closures will last until fall 2012.
96th Street Station Additional Work Shift Beginning Monday, February 6th
Please be advised that Second Avenue Subway contractors working on the 96th Street station will begin working an extra shift starting Monday, February 6th, 2012, from 3:00pm-10:00pm.
The addition of this shift is to complete Entrance #1 and #2 work in order for slurry wall construction to begin in March.
